FASTSIGNS® of Toledo and Maumee is searching for an experienced Estimator/Purchaser for our growing business. We at FASTSIGNS, help our clients make their statements in large scaled graphics and signage.

As an Estimator/Purchaser for our large projects division, you will have the opportunity to help shape the greater Toledo area landscape and create cost projections for some very unique projects for schools, retail businesses, construction projects and much more! Using your construction knowledge and resourcefulness, you will dig into blueprints, conceptual drawings, and engineered drawings to create a project estimate and timeline. Throughout the process, strong communication and relationship building skills are needed as you interact with the sales, production, and purchasing teams.

Our most successful estimator will thrive in our high-octane, fast-paced environment, yet have the ability to stay cool, calm, and collected while faced with unique challenges each day. Additionally, they are comfortable with ambiguity and regularly use assertive communication skills to ascertain the appropriate products to estimate.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

  • Prepare accurate and profitable cost estimates for projects in a timely manner
  • Ability to seek competitive pricing and source specialty materials from subcontractors and vendors
  • Maintain comprehensive estimate and project documentation
  • Review estimates with the Fabrication and Installation Team on a regular basis to ensure accurate analysis of cost of materials and labor
  • Create and submit Purchase Orders through internal system to vendors
  • Track materials/labor costs and shipments
  • Act as the liaison with the customer on all aspects of the project, including site visits, design, permit procurement, and installation

WHAT SKILLS YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Read and understand blueprints and conceptual drawings to accurately estimate labor and material costs
  • Ability to collect and research data and competitive bids from vendors or outside resources
  • Excellent computer skills and the ability to work on cloud based software and to learn new software and technology as necessary
  • Knowledge of Google Suite programs including Google Drive and Gmail
  • Ability to apply concepts of algebra and geometry
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision or collaboratively within a team
  • Ability to understand margins and gross profits
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate with owners, contractors, vendors, salespeople, fabrication and installation teams
  • Advanced time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven history of project and process management
  • Minimum 2+ years construction management or sign industry experience a must.

Compensation: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
